What draws me to photography?
Ever since I was little, I've been an empath. I'm an observer, a studier, and I have always been fascinated with the "why" behind the things people do or say. Because of these things, I have always found beauty in people. At 8 years old, I started writing... yes... for fun (I know, don't judge.) It truly became a huge part of my life and I dedicated years to writing stories, poems, songs, and more! I was drawn to capturing emotions in words before I even explored the world of photos. Then, I found myself passionate about drawing. I drew hands, flowers, people, always creating pictures that I could FEEL.
If anyone would have told me that at 19 years old I would order my first camera and shortly after, start my photography business, Captured by Kaitlyn, I probably would have laughed! As I think about it, however, it should have come as no surprise. After all, I had been creating for years.
So now, I have dedicated my time, my energy, and my soul into creating, the one thing I was born to do, and building it into something that others can truly, love, cherish, and benefit from. And no matter what it is I'm capturing, families, seniors, boudoir, couples, or weddings, I will always consider it my, goal and purpose to capture those moments and emotions. I will forever encourage the art of getting to know the people in front of my camera. I want these photos to feel like you. The messy, the beautiful, and everything in between.
Why should you hire me to be your photographer?
Paying someone to capture these precious moments, from newborn photos, to senior photos, to photos of your wedding, is a big commitment, and not one many people take lightly. Not to mention, paying a photographer is not always cheap! I am aware of the thought, time, and money that goes into hiring a photographer which is why I pour so much of my own time and effort into your photos.
